| This is reallly for all years, not just the class of 1968. A Globe High School Alumni Association (GHSAA) has just been formed. By virtue of your attendance at Globe High School (GHS), you are a member. A charter for this organization has been drafted and will be reviewed in a GENERAL ASSEMBLY of GHSAA on Saturday, January 10, 2009 (Tiger Day.) This meeting will be held in the Globe High School auditorium at 10:30 a.m. Everyone is urged, to attend! Assuming that some version of the charter is approved at this meeting, there will be an election of a board of directors as well as other business. Both Sherrill Stephens (GHS Principal) and Tim Trent (Superintendent of Schools) will be there to welcome us. We may even have a distinguished guest–Rose Mofford, Arizona’s first woman governor. The General Assembly will be followed in t he afternoon by GHS Boys Basketball (Freshmen at 1:00 p.m., JV at 1:30 p.m., and Varsity at 3:00 P.M.) when they take on Payson. The day will end with a multi-class reunion dinner at La Casita in downtown Globe. The goals of the GHSAA are to: 1, Assemble and maintain a list of alumni along with current addresses so as to assist classes in reunion efforts; 2. Plan and prepare for celebratory or commemorative events (like the centennial of the Globe High School building in 2014), and; 3. Assist in the maintenance and revitalization of Globe High School Spirit and in the prosperity (academic and social) of those currently involved with the high school There will be some start-up costs for the GHSAA to be incorporated as a non-profit organization in Arizona. If you support the idea of an alumni association, a modest contribution of $5 or $10 would be greatly appreciated.
